mosaic crazy

So I thought i'd share some images of my bathroom with you, after showing you some of the tiles I'll be using for my fire place, I figured a little viewing of my ever so small bathroom would be something of a colour/design experience.
Mr iLE AiYE and I created this room some 10 years ago, based on an Egyptian theme, with hand painted panels in each wall, we researched each image carefully, eventually deciding on, a map of the river Nile, hieroglyphics explaining the ritual of applying make-up, Sun Ray, a Rosetta Stone and the tree of life, and then of course there's the mosaic ceiling mirror which we placed over the bath, this is great fun whilst relaxing in the bath, however the deeper reason for this, was more of a cleansing of the soul, ie: water, bathing, nudity.

it took us about 5 months to create this space often working till the early hours of the morning, smashing up tiles and fitting them like a huge jigsaw. I've never tired of this bathroom, (dispite it probably being the smallest room known to man) it's a peaceful space, full of beautiful colours and shapes, I hope you like it too.

iLE AiYE inhouse job

So this week, I've been concentrating on re-designing, and demolishing my previous fireplace,
As you can see from the image at the top, work is now ready for rendering, and tiling.
I've chosen a mixture of tiles, these mosaic type tiles are just to add accents of colour to a larger light biscuit shade marble effect tile. I'll show you these when the job is finished.
I'm hoping to have it all finished in about 2 weeks, which will bring my sitting room re-decoration to an end, and I have to say it's looking mighty fine, like a little boutique apartment in London.

Christmas in July

Many online sellers will be familiar with the 'Christmas in July' sale period, which takes place every July. Whilst this year I haven't participated in the sale, I have received my christmas 2009 present from my lovely Brother and his fiancée.
This weekend my brother is visiting, and as he travelled to London in his car, he brought with him my 2009 christmas present.
isn't it devine, I'm a happy girl..

LAST ONE

Topaz blue merino knitted waistcoat LAST ONE
Well despite my best efforts, I can't find any more of this yarn in this beautiful baby blue yarn. I have enough yarn at home to make just one more, yes just one. http://www.etsy.com/listing/51546201/topaz-blue-merino-knitted-waistcoat-last
This summer, I've worn the white version http://www.etsy.com/listing/30160731/white-merino-waistcoat-last-one-in-this endlessly, it just does the trick when you want something more than just jeans and T.shirt to step out in.

black glitter scarf

So last week i came across the glitter yarn in a black, i never knew it was available in this shade, whilst it was in stock at many internet stores, never once had I seen the black shade, Last week, I was looking around to replenish my yellow glitter yarn, (as this is long discontinued) I came across the black, and wow when knitted up and worn with a black outfit it really does finish it off with some glitz.
i only have a few balls in stock, so this is a very limited edition.

Critique iLE AiYE

So this week my etsy shop is having a critique from my fellow 'Full Time Etsy Crafter' team mates, http://team.etsy.com/viewteam.php?id=416 over the past few months, a number of stores owned by one the FTEC have each been critiqued, with invaluable advice from a bunch of wonderfully talented crafters / business women

Today one of my team mates made me a new banner, which I was so surprised by, and utterly happy with, my photo editing skills are pretty lame, and as such my previous banner was kind of weak.

This was not something I expected to happen, so I'm so grateful, as most of the critique generally covers more tweeking of tags and seo stuff, which generally means improvements to your google search page results.

Yarn Porn

I've found myself very much attracted to this mix of shades this spring/summer, an ivory white, in some fashion quarters it'd be called 'nude' and a rich black,
This week the black chenille yarn arrived, I've had it sat at my work bench along side the ivory chenille, and I'm just in love with the combination, so I thought I'd share my visionary pleasures with you.
enjoy ;-)
