Tassel overload

During my shopping trip on Sunday, i found this lovely brown fitting leather jacket. (yes at the moment i'm obsessed with purchasing jackets) anyway, whilst the shaping and colour of the jacket is almost perfect, those tassels just have to go.
Luckily the braiding which the tassels sit under, lifts up on one side which means with a good pair of scissors the tassels can be removed with ease.
So on today's 'to-do' list, i will be removing the said tassels. and fear not, those redundant tassels will be recycled to make some hair barrettes, and other lovely leather accessories, which in turn will hopefully refund me the cost of the leather jacket.

Delighted.

last week i was invited to join a new team that was going through the jury stage of setting up, on etsy, The Artisans Gallery Team, went live yesterday evening, and OMG this team has the cream of the crop.. So i'm utterly delighted to have been nominated and chosen to sit amongst some very talented artisans. This is there blog link http://artisansgalleryteam.blogspot.com/ which has a list of the members along the right hand side of the screen, and i'm very proud to be amongst that list.

AOld Spitalfields Market photo
yesterday me and Mr iLE AiYE spent the morning and afternoon wandering around Spitalfields market, a market full of unique oddities, lovely food, urban fashion, and coffee shops.
a few stalls really caught my my eye, like http://www.vidavida.co.uk/ who mixes fused glass with leather, creating some lovely bags and belts. Also http://naughtyrutty.bigcartel.com/ who mixes Old English kings and queen images with leather and some great ladies neckties.

New Jumper Dress

So this is the sample jumper, knitted in that lovely mix of kid mohair and pink cotton.
This week for the first time ever, i knitted on circular needles, i can't believe how easy it is, or that i've been to scared to knit with them before. it's crazy how the mind stops you sometimes. Anyway, i'm really happy with my first attempt at making/creating this pattern.
the jumper which is a custom order for andrea is in fact a little shorter than this, and a bit more floppy, and has long arms, so i'll show you that one once it's done.

Deepest Sympathy

This afternoon I was sad to hear that Alexander McQueen had been found dead at his home in London.

McQueen was one designers shows I'd check each season, he was an exceptional designer the world over.
RIP.

So the good news is

Last week if you remember I sent a yellow summer shurg to Pixie Lott http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/celebs-on-sunday/2010/02/07/pixie-lott-revs-it-up-115875-22015824/ the PR company also sent her my green click -it collar above, and well she choose to keep the above click-it. The bad news is the photo shoot was a Bardo on a Harley theme. ;-/ And she wore all black, But She has a click-it collar, so who knows she might get spotted wearing it somewhere like the brit awards, yeah right dream on.... I hear you say.

SOLD

Quite by surprise, I sold this bag last week, Just as my mind has been pondering the purchase of a leather sewing machine. Maybe it's a message from the heavens telling me to do it, cause now this lovely pink lush bag has gone, I have only two bags left, and a stack of leather skins which will go either unused, or turned into wrist cuffs, which could be a complete waste of some very lovely leathers. But at £800.00 upwards for a machine, I'm a bit nervous, plus without a studio to house it, I would have to place it in my living room, and these leather machine are not small, I'm also wondering how noisy they might be, I remember in college the electricity was really loud, So I'm off to do some research, and count my pennies.
