WE MAKE SUMMER FAIR

Saturday 26th June sees the WEMAKE team, back at Chelsea Town Hall for a spectacular hand crafted event. If you're in London that weekend, make sure you head down to the Kings Road, and enjoy the vibe if you're not in London, then maybe think about taking a day trip down here, cause I promise you won't be disappointed.

The fair will be packed out with the most beautiful of hand crafted design pieces, many of the artists in attendance at the fair also show and sell their work on Etsy, so if you've been admiring some UK based etsy sellers, now's the time to see their work in real life. I sadly won't be exhibiting due to lack of ready to sell stock, but I'll be popping along to have coffee and cake with some of my friends who have organised this fab event, and some who are exhibiting.

I was directed to a website http://www.80spurple.com/ the other day as my Brown alpaca cardi had been added, i'm very happy to be included cause it's a pretty cool site with unusual stylish designs, amongst many of the unusual offerings, I found these boots, sadly they are out of stock in my size, but i'll be keeping an eye out for updates on that situation, cause these are definitely on my want list.

Oh wow my sofa just arrived.

OK I'm JUMPING WITH JOY

My sofa and swivel chair just arrived, look here's my new knitting chair, in it's new home.

it came through the door so easily, a piece of cake,

Now I'm going to knit all day long.

My new workstation

Yeah how happy am I this morning, my workstation, sat perfectly in it's allocated space, and everything I wanted to store in it, fits perfectly, Top shelf is Beads/jewelery making.

middle and bottom shelf is leather hardware tools, dremel drill, pots containing cable needles, sewing needles, tape measures, scissors etc.

Table area has my sewing machine, and laptop.

The stool also has storage, which is home for all my mailing envelopes, packaging, and pending orders, and the shelf at the bottom (which isn't really visible in these images, has my leather filing drawers, with all my paperwork.

Now, I'm sat waiting for my Sofa and knitting chair to arrive, I'm biting nails hoping the huge comfiness gets through our doors, so by this time tomorrow, Ill be able to share the good vibe pictures, and won't instead be in tears.

Having a good ol clearout

This weekend i've been having the biggest clear-out of all my cupboards, storage, furniture, just about everything, i'm half way through, and so excited about my new Bureau storage, come sewing station, i'll post some pictures of this when it's all finished and housed in its correct position. Anyway, whilst rummaging around, I found a CD with images full of a trip I took to Morroco a few years ago, I haven't seen these pictures for quite some time, so it was a real joy to find them again.

Here's a couple for you to view

The top image was taken at dawn on the morning after a night spent in a Berber camp on the edge of the sahara desert. I chose not to sleep in one of the tents, but instead pulled out my mattress and slept under the starts. (well it's not every day you get to spend the night in the Sahara with clear skies). I can sleep in a tent anytime.

The sand dune as you can see is absolutely massive, I did attempt to climb it, but believe me, it was no mean feat.

The second image is me tucking into a vegetarian terrine, which had been cooked Just off camera, on the road side, much like a kiosk, what fascinates me still to this day, is that I managed to eat my food whilst sat amongst all those carcases, what with me not having eaten meat in over 20 years.

But in my defence I'd travelled in a car for near on 8 hrs, from Fez, heading to Mazouga I was hot and hungry.

The third picture is the hotel I stayed at in the Sahara dessert, these little sandcastle structures are an amazing site to see whilst being driven in a four wheeler amongst the dunes, it took my breath away, how beautiful they were, both inside and out.

And of course the fourth picture is of just four of the beautiful camels that carried us to the Berber camp.

Discontinued yarns

About 60% of the yarns I use in my store are discontinued.

The ever so popular loose weave cotton shrugs above, have Sadly I've just found out, become a discontinued yarn,

So my stash has therefore this morning increased ten fold, whilst I searched the internet for remaining stock. and quickly diminished funds in my bank account.

The only good thing about using discontinued yarns is it helps to keep my styles fresh, cause obviously as one yarn disappears i have to replace this with another suitably gorgeous replacement. But it' still gives you the feeling of having your favourite cake taken off the shelves at your local bakery. ie: Panic.

So if you've had your eye on any of the cotton loose weave shrugs, now is the time to pick one up, as stock is quite limited, and won't be replenished in these shades again.

Ok, I'm hoping I've completed my obsession with knitting halternecks

Ok, I promise for the moment this is the last knitted Halter Neck, I will however, be making some re-constructed musical t.shirts, one in red, and one in white, but that won't be for a couple of weeks, so for now. halter neck making is complete....... ;-)
