Well Hello.. 2012

Before I welcome in 2012, I must give thanks to a very cool 2011, for the most part it ran smoothly, with no major tragedies, or to many failures. iLE AiYE was a huge success this past year and I owe so much to my needles, yarn, and without doubt my customers, without whom, I'd be a frustrated browser of yarn.

SANTA aka Mr iLE AiYE brought me these little beauties

it's not every year that Mr iLE AiYE and I give each other gifts, but this year he totally out-did himself, I must admit I had dropped a bit of hint, saying I'd like some snake skin boots, but hey he went and treated me to 3 YES 3 pairs of shoes/boots. Those really high healed shoes are apparently for looking at, as he knows I'm unlikely to wear them outside, and surprisingly they are my sons favourites, as soon as he saw them he said, wow they're nice.

It's nearly Christmas

boy am I ready for a day off, I've not done an inch of christmas prep, No decorations, no shopping, no cards, zilch.... And the way my knitting schedule has me tied up, it will be Christmas eve at around 11am before I can hit the shops. So this year I decided I won't be slaving in the kitchen, or rushing around the shops to grab a trolley load of food, but instead decided to take my boys and a dear friend out to this gorgeous restaurant just around the corner from our home. I'd originally booked somewhere else, but got a call this week to say they weren't actually open on Christmas day my heart sank at the thought of cooking, shopping blah blah, so I racked my brain and remembered this lovely place, and as the heavens would have it they were open on Christmas day, and they had a table for 4. YEAH. I hope all your christmas plans are going smoothly, and your time is spent with those you love and enjoy. MERRY CHRISTMAS

A beautiful Job

I thought I'd share a recent purchase which my son bought for his grandparents. We decided a touching gift of my parents recently passed away parrot would be a special early christmas present, and where else to find a suitable artist than etsy, We settled on Joyce at http://www.etsy.com/shop/AzureDayArt?ref=seller_info as she appeared to be subtle with her colours, just a couple of convo's and one image of the parrot, and a week later Joyce had created this beautiful 10 x 10 acrylic. Grandparents are totally thrilled and emotional at such a touching gift. and I'm delighted to have found a truely lovely painter.

A charity shop find

I just wanted to share my bargain find this week, it caught my eye as I walked passed a charity shop, I was a happy girl to find out that it was for sale at just £20.00 so I couldn't let it go. It's completely lined, so the holes don't pose a problem re: what to wear underneath, and it's hand crochet,

Ltd Edition GrungeT

This grunge sweater was a custom order, using the Alpaca and wool mix yarn, which sadly has been discontinued, luckily I have a few bags of this yarn at home, so I can offer more on a ltd ediiton basis.
