It's not a game controller

When my son isn't around to help me capture images of my knits, Mr iLE AiYE steps in, whilst he's really good at this job, I'm forever telling him, the camera button is not a game controller, ie you're not playing a shoot um up game, cause he just clicks on that poor button a thousand times a second. hence we end up with images like these. whilst all arty and that, it's not really focusing on the garment. So for today, these are the images available of my new wool sweater... Just think Abstract :)

The Grunge on a slant

Here's a modified version of the grunge sweater with an asymmetrical slant.
I'm really really liking this, I think a cream version is gonna be a must for the spring.

New Suite sir

Mr iLE AiYE doesn't shop much for clothes, but we've been on the look out for a nice new suit for some time now. Yesterday, we decided to chance our luck at the Harrods sale, the store was open until 9pm, so after a lazy afternoon at home, we headed out around 6pm and had a stroll around the famous store. As luck would have it, we found this smart 2 piece. Umm suites you sir. PS, this isn't Mr iLE AiYE modelling. :)

Wishing you all a happy yule tide

I know, these look pretty awesome don't they, currently sat in my kitchen, These Crab and lobster are on the menu for tomorrow's Christmas Lunch. along with sweet potatoes, parsnips and plantain.
This year I'll be having a nice quite time relaxing at home. some DVDs, bubbly and of course Chocolate are waiting in the wings.
Followed by four days of creative knitting, I've got a stack of new designs rumbling around in my head, so I'm hoping to get a good deal of them knitted up during the holiday season.

So for now, Happy holidays to all of you, and may 2011 be kind, peaceful and cheerful for you all.

Something to take the edge off

double wrap leather belt with hanging feather - BROWN
This morning I've woken up with one side of my face completely swollen, It appears I have an abscess, thankfully there is no pain, but I'm the biggest weed, when it comes to visiting the Dentist. So I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself, Hence I'm looking at some retail therapy to take the edge off the situation. Kind of a reward for my pending torture.
I'm liking this belt, http://www.etsy.com/listing/64303616/double-wrap-leather-belt-with-hanging because not only is it one of my fav materials, 'Leather' but it can be worn in all manner of ways,

The grunge sweater in Black.

What a crazy busy time I'm having, hence the lack of attention I've paid to my blog these past couple of weeks, I'm thinking this will all change as the holiday season eases off,
As a creative person, it's really hard at times, juggling the need to earn money for food, shelter etc. whilst still wanting to create something new,
this basically means, that once something is created, I want to move on to the next, but as I need to eat, then I also need to sell my work, so instead it's endless hours of re-creating pieces I have in store, But there's always a silver lining to this situation, that is when a customer requests a current piece in a different colour, yeahhhhh I jump with joy, it means I can make something new, see something new, feel something new, try on something new, and post something new,
So I'm thrilled that this week I finished up this sweater, a custom request for a black version of the green grunge http://www.etsy.com/listing/60960025/moss-green-oversized-grunge-sweater

A little christmas shopping

http://www.rootsandwings.me.uk/page2.htm
http://www.etsy.com/shop/SashaAndElisabeth?section_id=7224461http://www.cosmocards.co.uk/laser-cuts/

Yesterday I took a couple of hours out to visit the WeMake Christmas fair http://wemakelondon.blogspot.com/ at Chelsea Town hall. The fair is in it's 2nd year at Chelsea and rapidly building momentum, with a grand hall full of top quality hand made arts & craft, it's a difficult job deciding on what to purchase. I ended up with two beautiful new pieces of jewellery,
one being a silver resin cuff, the other being a tiny piece of china plate pendant necklace. I've also found a paper artist whom I'll be commissioning a white piece of wall art to place in my living room. I just need to decide on an image/theme
The images above aren't exactly what I purchased, but they give you a glimpse of the style.

elegant evening shrug

Just perfect, for those festive parties,

No Pain No Gain

This yarn is probably the most difficult yarn I use, it's so tricky to knit, and boy if you drop a stitch, it's just a nightmare trying to find the loop to pull it through.

But as always in life, you must persevere in order to create perfection,
Today I've completed a new shrug using this yarn, later on today, when I'm out of my PJ's, I'll get some images of me wearing this festive glamour garment.

Black Friday

I'm having a Black Friday sale 15% OFF total purchase price, store wide http://www.etsy.com/shop/ileaiye.

A brown version.

HELLO
I've been missing in action this week, I'm swamped with pre-holiday orders, this time of year seems to wake up all my online sales venues so it's full steam ahead.
Anyway I was really happy to knit this order up this week, it's been over a year since I designed this sweater, in the original oatmeal shade. http://www.etsy.com/listing/56640955/cropped-oatmeal-tweed-cardigan I've since knitted it in the silver http://www.etsy.com/listing/61217986/cropped-silver-grey-tweed-cardigan but till now hadn't got an order for it in the brown.
This particular one is a tad to small for me, as it's made to the customers specs, who is smaller than myself. but it gives me an idea of the finished look in this shade.

This is the last pair

Blue Cashmerino Romantic gloves LAST Pair in this shade

Sadly the blue frill is almost all gone, just one more pair can be knitted from the little stash that I have left. I've got a small amount of a brighter pale blue for future pairs, but this teal dusky blue is such a great colour, it's a real shame to see it finished. http://www.etsy.com/listing/62677726/blue-cashmerino-romantic-gloves-last

Another Faux fur

Just another faux fur, I've used a silver faux fur, and a mix of navy blue and charcoal grey alpaca blend yarns. I just love these scarfs. :)

a winters cowl

So as winter is settling in I figured it was time to knit a warmer style cowl. I've taken my design from the cowl section of my winter hoodies http://www.etsy.com/listing/57924851/cream-chunky-hoodie-cowl-balaclava-cause and folded the collar over, giving extra warmth.
What I find with a lot of cowls, or indeed scarves, is it's always tricky covering up that tiny section in-between your jacket and the cowl/scarf.

So with this design, it simply tucks under the jacket, no added bulk, but complete warmth. the back section, only covers the neck, so you don't have a huge excess of material getting in the way of your hair (always a problem for me with such long hair - if I have excess material and a hat, without doubt, the end result is tangled, knotted hair).

Just the cuffs to finish off

It's hard to see in these images the thickness of this yarn, it's the same one which I used in the Green grunge sweater last weekend, this grey version has a subtle mottle effect.
I'm gonna finish the sleeves off with a wave edge, which will be done this afternoon, but as daylight is of a treat (or so it seems- I'm not a fan of winter) I had to get some pictures done whilst my son - photographer and I had a spare second at the same time in daylight hours.
This sweater is a custom order for my lovely friend Renee, whom I'll be meeting up with this week for a girly night of christmas retail therapy, she's hosting a crafters seller night, for her friends to gather and shop handmade.

A matching set of silver/grey cowl and fingerless gloves, the frill on the glove is a double knit mohair, whilst the cowl and body of the glove is a mix of wool and alpaca, making them soft and warm . umm.

A christmas collar

I've used 5 different yarns on this little piece, a Faux fur for the bottom section, two different black yarns knitted with a thin gold slubby yarn in the centre, finished off with the pompom yarn around the top rim.
The collar just slips over the head, so fit's snuggly (not tight) around the neck.
