Well Hello.. 2012

Before I welcome in 2012, I must give thanks to a very cool 2011, for the most part it ran smoothly, with no major tragedies, or to many failures. iLE AiYE was a huge success this past year and I owe so much to my needles, yarn, and without doubt my customers, without whom, I'd be a frustrated browser of yarn. So I hereby hope that 2012 is everything you all wish it to be, and if any surprises pop up, they manage to leave you and your families, still happy, healthy, and full of love. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

SANTA aka Mr iLE AiYE brought me these little beauties

it's not every year that Mr iLE AiYE and I give each other gifts, but this year he totally out-did himself, I must admit I had dropped a bit of hint, saying I'd like some snake skin boots, but hey he went and treated me to 3 YES 3 pairs of shoes/boots. Those really high healed shoes are apparently for looking at, as he knows I'm unlikely to wear them outside, and surprisingly they are my sons favourites, as soon as he saw them he said, wow they're nice.

It's nearly Christmas

boy am I ready for a day off, I've not done an inch of christmas prep, No decorations, no shopping, no cards, zilch.... And the way my knitting schedule has me tied up, it will be Christmas eve at around 11am before I can hit the shops. So this year I decided I won't be slaving in the kitchen, or rushing around the shops to grab a trolley load of food, but instead decided to take my boys and a dear friend out to this gorgeous restaurant just around the corner from our home. I'd originally booked somewhere else, but got a call this week to say they weren't actually open on Christmas day my heart sank at the thought of cooking, shopping blah blah, so I racked my brain and remembered this lovely place, and as the heavens would have it they were open on Christmas day, and they had a table for 4. YEAH. I hope all your christmas plans are going smoothly, and your time is spent with those you love and enjoy. MERRY CHRISTMAS

A beautiful Job

I thought I'd share a recent purchase which my son bought for his grandparents. We decided a touching gift of my parents recently passed away parrot would be a special early christmas present, and where else to find a suitable artist than etsy, We settled on Joyce at as she appeared to be subtle with her colours, just a couple of convo's and one image of the parrot, and a week later Joyce had created this beautiful 10 x 10 acrylic. Grandparents are totally thrilled and emotional at such a touching gift. and I'm delighted to have found a truely lovely painter.

A charity shop find

I just wanted to share my bargain find this week, it caught my eye as I walked passed a charity shop, I was a happy girl to find out that it was for sale at just £20.00 so I couldn't let it go. It's completely lined, so the holes don't pose a problem re: what to wear underneath, and it's hand crochet,

Black Friday sale

I'm having a small 15% Black Friday sale on all my chunky hats and hoodies, come see. First come 1st served.

Nothing nicer

Than to see one of my customers wearing an iLE AiYE Knit. I've never seen one of my grunge sweaters on anybody other than myself, So when this image came through today, I felt very proud. and thought wow if i wasn't knitting these, I'd definitely want to buy one. What made this image even more special is: the customer requested a chunkier yarn, and decided on one of my hat yarns. so the sweater is alot chunkier than the standard grunge sweater in my store. When I'd knitted and stitched it up, I was surprised at how lovely the yarn worked in this style, and so perfect for colder climates. ~( I can see myself knitting up more of these)

This is a custom order, the customer asked if I could knit up my design in a yarn she'd chosen. it's a beautiful shade of lilac pink, and knits like a dream. d

The end of I've had a mega busy week of sales which has brought upon a quick succession of 'end of line' pieces, The two garments above are all but gone, I have enough to knit just 1 more of each. I'll be listing these again in about a week, but if any of my followers or visitors have had they're eye on these garments then now is the time to request a reserve order. I will be knitting the comfy sweater again in a powder blue, and a kind of plum-ish shade, both will be a limited edition of about 3. and the M2M sweater can of course be knitted in almost any other yarn/shade

All finished

This morning I did the finishing touches to the custom order Hoodie. I fixed on the patch pocket. This hoodie is knitted from a different yarn to the sample one I created a few weeks back. Both Mr iLE AiYE and my son love it. which is always a good sign, and makes me happy, I think the next one I make will have long sleeves.

A Lilac click with brown leather

This morning I sold the last of the original pink leather strap version of this click it collar. So as quick as a flash i got some images done with the lilac yarn, using the brown leather. a match made in heaven me thinks. :)

Fawn Faux Fur Fingerless Gloves

This mix of yarns have been on my todo list for ages. I've already mixed them for this soft scarf but kept loosing time to knit up the gloves. (which surprisingly I find gloves really time consuming) but thankfully a customer had just this combo in mind. so this week a custom order meant I could tick them off my todo list. :)

It's a sad day

Today was the day I knew would be inevitable the yarn which I use for the majority of my grunge sweaters is being discontinued, The Red shade has already gone, NOOOOOOOO I bought some stock, but it's a chunky yarn, so I can't house to much stock. So I'm going to have to hope all my reliable sources have a good stock in store.

Last night I saw an iLE AiYE hat on Sky TV

So I've searched youtube and there it is, KatVonD. wearing an iLE AiYE hat on LA Ink.

IF you don't want to watch all three minutes then move the slide bar to about 1 minute into the video I have to say my little heart did do a flutter. but as it was like 3.30am in the morning, I couldn't jump around to much.

It's a hoodie, which I started working on during my vacation in Greece.  this weekend, I finished it up,
So here's some sneaking pics of the sample.
It may be a while yet before I get the finished garment ready for selling, but I'm on my way.

A Christmas collar - LAST ONE with the gold thread.

Lovely Lovely Lovely

I'm always a happy knitter when a customer is thrilled with their purchase, and to top it off, sends me an image of them wearing their iLE AiYE Knits.
This morning I was sent this beautiful image of a recent happy iLE AiYE shopper wearing her new Red Velvet chunky hat.
I love the way she's styled it, with the red lips, the stripped top and herStunning green eyes, picking up the green in her pendant,  perfecto.
